Industrial Designer using the Milling Machine at Makerhaus in Ballard Seattle, to produce a prototype design.
The mill speed and direction is dialled in and is dependent on the bit and material to be cut as part of the pre-check process.
Everything is balanced against drawings and computer print-outs with illustrations of cross sections and detailed measurements which are translated into three dimensions and milled by hand, in this multi-step process of trial and error before a working final prototype can be studied, finessed and showcased in the process of getting ones idea from paper to market.
